  • Telangana govt employees to get central pay scales
         Attempting to live up to its poll promises, the TRS cabinet on Wednesday cleared several welfare schemes including farm loan waiver, service regularization of contract employees, farmland distribution for the landless Dalit families, and enhancement of pay scales for the state employees on par with the central scales.

         Announcing a platter of goodies for farmers, weaker sections, tribals and SC girls, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said people would see the ‘Ugra Narasimha Avataram’ of his as he is trying to cleanse the system and not target individuals.Apart from debt waiver for 39 lakh farmers up to Rs 1 lakh each and restriction of fee reimbursement to Telangana students who seek admission to engineering colleges, the Telangana state cabinet meeting chaired by KCR here on Wednesday took several decision, including payment of Rs 50,000 to tribals and SC girls when they get married and lifting of cases registered against youth and students since 2001.

  • Telangana announces Rs 10 lakh for families of ‘martyrs’
         The Telangana government on Wednesday decided to provide Rs.10 lakh financial assistance each to the families of those who laid down their lives for creation of the separate state since 1969.The state cabinet also decided to give job to one eligible family member of the “martyrs”. The government will also bear medical expenses of the families and ensure free education to their children. If the families are landless agriculturists, they will each be given three acres of land.


  •  Telangana to float public limited firm for tourism promotion
           The Telangana government is proposing to register a new public limited company, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (TSTDC), under the Companies Act 2013, according to BP Acharya, principal secretary, tourism and cultural department.

  • Upswing in cancer cases in A.P., Telangana

         The ideal way to handle such a large number of cancer patients is to identify them early and focus on the preventive aspects.The incidence of cancer in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is ever increasing. In 2001, the number of fresh cancer cases detected in united A.P. was around 63,735. In 2006, the number of cases went up to 73,692 and in 2011, the number of cases reported was 84,701. It is being projected that in 2016, the number of such cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh combined will be 97,000.

  • Telangana Govt Proposes To Introduce 2,400 E-Panchayats
         Telangana has proposed to introduce e-Panchayats initiative in 2,400 Gram Panchayats (GPs) providing computer services at the lowest level of the government.Under the programme, all payments of MGNREGS, pensions, watershed and other government programmes would be administered through "one stop shop" to be set up at these GPs, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Principal Secretary J Raymond Peter said.

  • RTC seeks Rs 200 cr each from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh govts
         According to RTC officials, the chief ministers of both the states were apprised of the immediate requirement of the corporation and informed that Telangana and AP would have to share Rs 1,998 crore each of accumulated loan. "The two states will have to share the losses. To come out of the red, the corporation requires significant financial support from both the governments,'' RTC joint managing director GV Ramana Rao said.

  • Telangana to be strict on grabbers
         Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said he had no animosity against any person but would not spare anyone indulging in illegal activities including running illegal clubs, land grabbing, illegal constructions and other anti-social activities in and around Hyderabad besides other parts of Telangana.
