  • Telangana to regularise contract employees
           The Telangana government is all set to regularise the services of contract and outsourcing employees based on their nativity. Nearly 80,000 contract employees are working in 90 departments including the Telangana Secretariat.
  • Telangana private hospitals must treat HIV patients
          Treatment of HIV-infected patients will be made compulsory in private hospitals as it is found that they are often referred to government hospitals on the pretext of clinical examinations.The stigma and discrimination against these patients is very high and despite the awareness about the disease, there has been little change at the ground level.
  • Telangana minister’s convoy vehicle rams into bus
          A vehicle in Telangana education minister G. Jagadeeshwar Reddy’s convoy rammed into an RTC bus at Nakrekal in Nalgonda district. While the minister escaped unhurt as his vehicle had already passed through.The minister was on his way to visit his constituency, Suryapet, on the eve of the municipal elections “An RTC bus, was in front of the convoy, which suddenly stopped to avoid hitting a dog. One of the convoy rammed into the bus. However, nobody was hurt,” said a police officer.
  • Telangana rejects idea to form joint force for Hyd
           The K Chandrasekhar Rao government, which is at loggerheads with the Centre over Polavaram Bill, has sent a missive to the home ministry rejecting its proposal to set up the joint force comprising policemen from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for maintenance of law and order in Hyderabad and Cyberabad.

           Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said his government will set up a super speciality hospital in every district of the state to cater to the needs of people who do not have access to quality treatment in far-flung areas.

          At least 450 women from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh migrate to Gulf countries every week in search of work. And the highest migration so far has been to Saudi Arabia.As per the ministry of overseas Indian affairs, 29,637 ECR category workers were given emigration clearances till 2013.

  • Telangana’s objections to new Bill untenable, says Vizag MP
          The objections to the Bill passed in the Lok Sabha merging seven mandals in Khammam district of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh, to facilitate the construction of the mega Polavaram irrigation project across the Godavari, are untenable and unfortunate, according to K Haribabu, Lok Sabha MP from Visakhapatnam and President of the AP unit of the BJP.

  • Realtors extend cement purchase boycott in AP, Telangana
          The Joint action committee of builders in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh represented by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India along with all its chapters in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and other associations have decided to extend the cement purchase (boycott) from July 13 to July 20.

  • Telangana Artists' Kotha Panduga Concludes
          More than 180 artists from Telangana state came together with their fresh work to celebrate the formation of the new state. ‘Kotha Panduga’, a week-long painting exhibition at State Gallery of Fine Arts, Madhapur concluded on Sunday.The exhibition showcased paintings on a wide range of subjects, from lifestyle of Telangana villages to the modern streets of Hyderabad. Though works of more than 180 artists from across the state were received, only 140 of them were exhibited.
