The Telangana government will issue clear-cut guidelines for the fee reimbursement scheme this week. The nomenclature of the fee reimbursement will be changed as ‘Financial assistance for students of Telangana.” Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held discussions with Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and other officials at Secretariat on Friday.
According to sources, the guidelines would be issued soon, deciding the nativity of the students for the fee reimbursement scheme.
“The Chief Minister decided to change the nomenclature of the scheme. However, the cut-off year for deciding the nativity of the student as Telangana is not yet finalised,” sources in CMO told Express.
They said that those settled in Telangana before 1956 would become natives of Telangana was figured in the series of meetings held recently. “The money being spent belongs to Telangana government. So, it will decide for which students the money should be paid. Some may raise objections, but the state has every right to frame its own policy,” officials said.
