  • Polavaram Bill Shutdown hits normal life in Telangana
           Telangana is facing a day-long bandh on Saturday called in protest against the passage in Lok Sabha of a Bill to transfer some villages of the newly-created state to Andhra Pradesh to aid the construction of the Polavaram project.The bandh, called by Left parties and the Telangana Joint Action Committee (which spearheaded separate statehood movement), began on a peaceful note and there was no report of any untoward incidents anywhere in the state

  • Telangana Government Sanctions 200 Additional Medical Seats
           The Telangana government has sanctioned 200 additional medical seats across three medical colleges in the state from the current academic year.Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Health T Rajaiah today said that Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Nizamabad was allotted 100 additional seats, while Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad and Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, were given 50 additional seats each.

  • Telangana DGP demotes 41 DSPs
          Implementing the Supreme Court order on promotions, Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma on Saturday demoted 41 DSPs to inspectors. An order has also been issued promoting 28 inspectors as DSPs. The new order was issued after verification of the statewide integrated seniority list of inspectors and the final seniority list of DSPs, Mr Sharma said.

  • Telangana state departments too lose unutilised lands
          Hyderabad district administration is set resume over 292 acres of unused land allotted to different public and private organisations in and around the city.These organisations include the AP Housing Board, APIIC, GHMC, BSNL, and others. The district administration officials have prepared over 170 notices which will be issued starting from Monday.
