    TS Police: CM grants 5 lakh aid to Balakumar from Secunderabad participated in 1969 T Movement

    Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to K Balakumar, who was injured in police firing in 1969 Telangana Movement. Balakumar from Secunderabad participated in 1969 Telangana Movement and lost his leg in police firing.

    Balakumar led his life by running public telephone booth for some years but he was facing severe financial problems as the public telephone booth was shut down after the entry of mobile phones. On Monday, Balakumar met the Chief Minister, who visited Mettuguda area as part of Swachh Hyderabad, and explained his condition. The Chief Minister immediately announced Rs.5 lakh financial assistance to Balakumar.
