    SHE teams: Safety and Security of women



    Superintendent of Police V Shiva Kumar has warned that they would open rowdy sheets against those frequently involved in harassment of women, in Karimnagar district.


    Launching the SHE teams in Karimnagar on Tuesday, the SP said that the district police machinery was taking all measures for the safety and security of women under the slogan of “Swecha Karimnagar” (freedom) and warned that they would deal firmly with people involved in harassment of women and resort to eve-teasing, sexual harassment, etc. Stating that they would initially constitute one SHE team each in all police sub-divisions in the district, he said that they would form two SHE teams in Karimnagar town. He said that they would conduct counselling programme for the accused and their parents in case of first offence and repeat offenders will be dealt with sternly. He said that they would also conduct flash-mobs and educate youth about these evils. He also called upon people to lodge complaints through whatsapp, facebook and police website. He also said that they would strengthen the SHE teams in a phased manner. Additional SP (admn) B Janardhan Reddy, OSD L Subbarayudu, DSPs, Sanjeeva Rao, Prabhakar, Koteshwara Rao, CIs Mahesh and Suvarna, Sis Shivakumar and Satish were also present.
