         CM also said the entire medical expenditure of the injured students would be borne by the state government.The Chief Minister conveyed his displeasure and anger over the accident to South Central Railway General Manager P K Srivastava.

  • Telangana train-bus collision: Man who lost two kids in accident dies of shock
         Unable to bear the shock of losing his two children in the train-schoolbus collision in Telangana's Medak district, a man died of cardiac arrest. It was a double tragedy for the family of Valiuddin. He collapsed after hearing the news of death of his two children - Gousya (4) and Abdul Rasheed (6) - in the accident which occurred when a train rammed into a school bus at an unmanned rail-road crossing at Masayipet.

  • Telangana records -53 per cent deficit rainfall
         Monsoon blues are back to haunt Telangana State. While the state recorded a deficit rainfall of -53 per cent, water levels in the major reservoirs which supplies water to the state plummeted to 290.25 TMC as against 317 TMC last year during the same period.Barring state capital Hyderabad, all the nine districts are reeling under deficit to scanty rainfall and sugarcane rich Nizamabad and Nalgonda districts being the worst hit.

  • Telangana citizen smart cards soon
         The Telangana State government has decided to issue “Telangana citizen cards”, a multi-purpose card, to ensure that the welfare schemes offered by the government reach the real beneficiaries. The cards will be issued by taking up “door-to-door verification” along the lines of issuing the passport

  • Bathukamma is made Telangana state festival
         The famed Bathukamma will now be a Telangana State festival. The government has declared “Bathukamma Panduga” to be the state festival on the lines of recently declared Bonalu Jatra. This is the second festival in Telangana to be declared a state festival after Bonalu, which was celebrated with state-backing in Secunderabad and Hyderabad in a big way recently.

  • Telangana hastens work on public service commission
           The Telangana Government is speeding up the process of setting up state public service commission to conduct Government recruitments for over 18,000 vacancies.Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has directed the officials to take necessary steps for speedy formation of the commission, said a senior official.

  • Telangana Tourism introduces ‘Nizam palaces tour’
          Telangana Tourism will introduce from July 26, a specially-packaged, weekend half-day ‘Nizam palaces tour’ on Saturdays and Sundays. The tariff for Option 1, of Rs. 3,100 per adult and Rs. 2,480 per child includes air-conditioned transportation with tour escort services, entry tickets, tea and snacks.
