  • Telangana puts on hold jobs for temporary staff in Osmania University
         Effigies of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his ministers are being burnt daily and heavy police force has been deployed to prevent students from taking out rallies. Students are intensifying their agitations and they are obstructing the ministers’ meetings ever since Mr Rao announced the Cabinet decision on July 16.

  • Telangana keen to buy Centre stake in Singareni
         The Telangana government is exploring the possibilities of purchasing the entire shareholding of the Union government in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to make it totally a state-owned company. Chief minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, directed officials to initiate steps in this regard, according to an official press release.

  • New Telangana industrial policy likely within a month
         Telangana is working to bring out a new industrial policy in about a month. This would be followed by sectoral policies for IT, hardware, food processing and others.

  • Telangana allots 2,900 acres to Navy
         The land will be allotted to the Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, in Dammagudem Reserve Forest at Pudur village, Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district near Hyderabad, said a statement from the chief minister's office.

  • More Rain Forecast for Telangana
         The Hyderabad mteorological department has predicted a heavy rainfall with thundershowers in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts of Telangana in the next 24 hours. The other districts in the state are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall.
