  • Telangana to buy power from Chhattisgarh
         K Chandrasekhar Rao, chief minister of Telangana gave instructions to Managing Director Transco to buy 1,000 MW power from Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company and enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) for Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCL) lines, a Chief Minister office release said.

         In fact, it was on the directions of the state government that the injured children, first admitted to Balaji and other hospitals in Kompally and its vicinity on the city’s outskirts, were shifted to Yashoda Hospital for better treatment since those hospitals lacked critical care and surgery facilities. “When we were informed that injured children were brought to our hospital, measures were taken on a war-footing. Doctors from our two other hospitals in the city were summoned and in all 120 doctors in different teams were attending to the children,” hospital authorities explained.

         "I was told my son had died and after that I went to different hospitals searching for my son. I reached a private hospital and saw some bodies of school children.I fainted and could not recognise a body that was shown to me as the face of the body was disfigured. Assuming that it was my son's body, I took it and performed the last rites," Goud said.
  • Child's body exhumed, handed over to real parents
         Police exhumed the body of a six-year-old boy, one of the victims of Thursday's tragic school bus-train collision in Telangana's Medak district, and handed it over to his parents after a blunder came to light Friday. The body of Dattu was mistaken as that of Danush alias Darshan Goud and handed over to the latter's parents Thursday and he was buried Friday morning in Kistapur village.

          The ₹2,200-crore Shreem group of companies is planning to set up a farm nutrient unit and a pharmaceutical facility in Telangana with estimated investments of ₹67 crore.The Gujarati group, which has interests in real-estate, hospitality, pharmaceuticals and agri inputs, has entered into an agreement with a Polish firm to manufacture specialty nutrients for agriculture.

  • Students tragedy : All over India nearly 70 deaths between Jan13 and Jul14 are of school students
         According to the National Crime Records Bureau, 20 children under the age of 14 years die daily in road accidents in India. The nearly 70 deaths between January 2013 and July 2014 are of school students. More than 60 students were also injured in 11 accidents spread over seven states since January 2013 till July this year. In all instances, the victims were travelling in school buses which were either hit by other vehicles or trains or rolled down mountain slopes.

She is brand ambassador of India," information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said making it clear that the comments made by K Laxman were not the party position.
