This time, over payment of liabilities and past dues of the electricity department worth Rs 450 crore as well as water dues of Rs 300 crore.Insiders say that the dues of even Andhra Pradesh CM’s residence and the Lake View guest house are being bickered over.
- Parliament passes Bill to transfer Telangana land to Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, which was passed in the Lok Sabha on Friday, will transfer 136 villages, 211 hamlets and seven mandals of Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh, where they will become part of the East Godavari district.
- SAIL in talks with Telangana government for steel plant
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is holding discussions with the Telangana government for setting up a steel plant on the borders of Warangal and Khammam district.Chief minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, is stated to have disclosed this at a meeting of officials held by him on Tuesday to discuss formulating of an industrial policy suitable for Telangana. The proposed steel plant involves an investment of Rs 30,000 crore.
- Telangana to soon unveil single-window ind policy
The Telangana government is in the process of giving final touches to its new single-window clearance industrial policy, which will be unveiled very soon, according to chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.“With zero-corruption as the sole agenda, the policy will be monitored by a special cell directly attached to the chief minister’s office. Under the new policy, all clearances for a project will be given within three to four weeks,” he told mediapersons on Tuesday.
- Telangana Irrigation Minister calls on Uma Bharti
A delegation led by Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, called on Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti here. In a memorandum submitted to the Minister here yesterday, the Telangana delegation raised various issues related to sharing of river water with neighbouring states and demanded Centre's intervention on some of the issues.
- Bandaru elected president of Telangana Loksatta
Bandaru Ramamohan Rao of Hyderabad has been elected president and Marepally Srinivas Reddy of Nalgonda general secretary of the Telangana state committee of the Loksatta Party. Members of the adhoc committee for Telangana appointed by Loksatta Party national president Jayaprakash Narayan elected the office-bearers by secret ballot at a meeting held at the party headquarters here yesterday, a party release said.
